M Chinnaswamy Stadium is located in Bangalore, Karnataka. It is near the famous M G Road. The cricket stadium was formely known as Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) stadium. It is the home ground of the Karnataka state cricket team and Royal Challengers Bangalore. The ground hosts Test, ODIs and First Class regularly.
The stadium was first used for a First Class match during the 1972–73. The first Test was played on November 22-29, 1974 during the West Indies tour of India. The West Indies team led by Clive Lloyd crushed M A K Pataudi led Indian team by a massive margin of 256 runs. The first One Day Internationals was played in the ground on September 6, 1982 India against Sri Lanka.
In 2000, BCCI chose the stadium for the National Cricket Academy. The stadium also served as venue for the 1996 Miss World pageant. The ground is the home ground of Karnataka Cricket and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The stadium was established in 1969.
