ICC World Twenty20 2007
The ICC World Twenty20 (ICC World T20) is organized by International Cricket Council (ICC). It is also known as T20 World Cup. The tournament consists of 12 teams. Test playing nations with qualifiers are the participants. The inaugural tournament was held at South Africa on September 11-24, 2007. India won the tournament and become the first world T20 Champions.
Ten Test playing nations with finalists of the 2007 ICC World Cricket League Division One, Scotland and Kenya are the participants. The tournament follows group stage and knockout round. The participants were divided into four groups of three teams each. The groups were determined based on the rankings of the teams in Twenty20 as of 1 March 2007. The top two teams from each group went through to the super eight.
